HOW IT ALL BEGAN:
Davy Rothbart had the idea for FOUND back in 2001. One cold winter night in Chicago, Davy went out to his car and found a note on his windshield addressed to a guy named Mario. Clearly, the note wasn’t meant for Davy, but he fell in love with the mix of anger and hope in that tiny piece of paper (which you can see to the left). He then started to find these lost treasures everywhere he went, collecting them, and curating them for the world to see. Then, people from all over the world started to send their own finds, becoming part of a global community art project.
Become a part of the FOUND world, download the FOUND app and submit your own finds. You can comment and help unravel the mysteries behind older finds and who knows, your contribution could finally discover the story behind Amber’s note to Mario… plus, your find could end up on the podcast!
